Site-level preferences are located in TWiki.TWikiPreferences, however this Main.TWikiPreferences prefs topic has overrride priority and should be used for local customisations. This allows for easier upgrades as you don't need to worry about the shipped preferences clobbering yours. It's easier to keep a handle on if you only copy over the settings you actually change.

Default Web Preferences

  • FINALPREFERENCES locks site-level preferences that are not allowed to be overridden by WebPreferences or user preferences:
    • Set FINALPREFERENCES = ATTACHFILESIZELIMIT, PREVIEWBGIMAGE, WIKITOOLNAME, WIKIWEBMASTER, SMTPMAILHOST, SMTPSENDERHOST, ALLOWWEBMANAGE, PROXYHOST, PROXYPORT

Default User Settings

TWiki Platform Settings

  • TWiki site name:
    • Set WIKITOOLNAME = College for the Easily Amused

  • Image, URL and alternate tooltip text of the logo for this installation: you should change these settings for your site, or they can be overwridden in WebPreferences for individual webs by defining these variables there.

  • Home page of this site
    • Set WIKIHOMEURL = /twiki/bin/view

  • List of College for the Easily Amused webs - on the first line of the upper toolbar (to add a new web, see ManagingWebs? and SiteMap):

Search Settings

E-mail Settings

  • TWiki administrator e-mail address:
    • Set WIKIWEBMASTER = poijuggler (at) gmail (dot) com

  • TWiki administrator name (first name and last name, e.g. Fred Smith):
    • Set WIKIWEBMASTERNAME = Provost
